Chambers and Partners announced that Sutton McAughan Deaver PLLC was selected as one of only six national finalists for its 2017 Chambers USA Award for Excellence in the area of intellectual property law, a category that includes patent, copyright, and trademark law.
The awards are based on Chambers and Partners research for the 2017 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, and are the only awards based entirely on the independent research of the Chambers and Partners research team. According to Chambers and Partners, the awards "reflect a law firm's preeminence" in the practice area, and also reflect notable achievements including "outstanding work" and "excellence in client service."
"We are especially proud of this achievement," said name principal Mike Sutton. "Of the law firms selected nationally, all but one have at least 500 lawyers and 12 offices. That our firm of seven lawyers is considered in the same category of these mega-firms demonstrates the effectiveness of our vision in founding Sutton McAughan Deaver: that a handful of highly-specialized, focused and experienced attorneys can, for the majority of IP cases, provide representation that is more effective and more efficient than is available in a traditional law firm model."
