David L. Terrell
Dave Terrell is a patent attorney with more than ten years of intellectual property experience on behalf of cutting-edge technology companies. His experience includes litigation, licensing, and prosecution in a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, electronic and computer technologies. Mr. Terrell also has significant experience providing client counseling and opinions regarding patentability, validity and freedom to operate.
Dave Terrell is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Texas, Eastern District of Texas, and District of Kansas, and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
Dave received a B.E.E., magna cum laude, from Auburn University in 1997, where he was an officer in Eta Kappa Nu, the electrical and computer engineering honor society of the IEEE. He received a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law in 2007.
Prior to joining Sutton McAughan Deaver PLLC, Dave was an associate at Locke Lord LLP from 2008 – 2012, a patent agent at Garmin International, and a patent agent at Hovey Williams LLP. Before attending law school, Dave worked as a systems engineer at Lafarge Corporation and a facilities engineer at Chevron.
